Just wanted to let everybody know we’re still here! It’s been a while since our last post – I know we’re terrible about keeping up, but I guess that’s just the way it is. We have been writing some new stuff and we’re actually currently recording some new tracks at the Art Institute of Seattle. We haven’t actually heard the tracks yet, but we’re hoping they come out like we want. We’ll keep you updated.

CD Release Party!

That’s right – “In For A Pound” is finally done! The CD release party is set for Saturday, July 23rd at Darrell’s Tavern in Shoreline. Come one come all! We’ve got some new t-shirts and cd’s we’ll be giving away and of course, the new album will be on sale! If you just can’t wait – you can download it online at iTunes or buy the actual disc at CD baby. If you do get it, please rate it and leave a comment on iTunes for us!
We’ll be playing some off the new disc, some off the old disc and some brand new ones you haven’t heard yet! Hopefully we’ll see you on the 23rd.

…and the proof? Mark Hoover is once again playing with Haymaker. Yes, we once had a falling out but as far as I can tell, Mark is doing much better now thank you very much. So welcome back Hoover. Good to see you all smiles again!
And on another note, we’d like to thank our good friend Scott Jefferson for everything he’s done for us. ALWAYS ready to rock, chock full of musical trivia, and a kick-ass bassist – it’s sad to see you go. But hopefully you’ll see a Haymaker/QMP bill coming at you soon…

Been a while

Yep, it’s been a while since we posted anything. Guess we’ve just been a bit busy. Life just seems to catch up with you sometimes ya know? Anyway, the new CD is now complete and off to the presses. Hey, we just wanted to say thanks to everyone that voted for us (sometimes more than once…) in the Best of Western Washington contest. I’m not sure where we ended up in the mix, but it wasn’t in the top 5. I guess they’re going to announce all the winners on Friday, so hopefully we’ll be able to see how we did.

Woke up this morning to a call from Lance: “Hey dude, did you submit us to some contest or something?”
“no, not that I know of”
“A buddy just called me and said they were playing us on KZOK this morning”
“umm…no idea”

Turns out the Bob Rivers show is involved in this contest called “Best of Western Washington” and someone was kind enough to submit us. You can check out the spot where we’re mentioned here (around the 10:00 mark)

Collaboration

So we got an email a while back from a guy explaining that he’s an audio engineer and he digs our music – and if we were interested, would we be willing to send him some raw tracks to mix. So we sent him San Pedro. That was about two months ago.
Since then, he’s delivered a number of really cool mixes – all very different from the next one – and we’re hoping to be able to share those mixes with everybody. Stay tuned.

Yeah, it’s late in the game, but we decided to re-track guitars on San Pedro and Farmer. I think they’re gonna be a lot better. Looking forward to hearing how it comes out. After that it’s just final tweaks hopefully….

Hey, it’s been a while since we had a whole band together to practice! It’s nice to have our good friend and regular stand-in bass player Scott Jefferson back in action with us. Also a big thank you to Brandon for coming and taking pictures of our ugly mugs. He does damn fine work – Check him out.

Tonight will be the first time Lance, Dean and I have all gotten together and jammed since I had my little accident way back in November. Very excited to jam and see how my hand holds up. Hopefully we can get Scotty down soon too.
