Collaboration

July 28th, 2010

So we got an email a while back from a guy explaining that he’s an audio engineer and he digs our music – and if we were interested, would we be willing to send him some raw tracks to mix. So we sent him San Pedro. That was about two months ago.
Since then, he’s delivered a number of really cool mixes – all very different from the next one – and we’re hoping to be able to share those mixes with everybody. Stay tuned.

Oh, and if you’re ever near Rimini, Italy go check out Frenk at his studio: http://www.pennabilli.eu/

Finishing up…

July 26th, 2010

Yeah, it’s late in the game, but we decided to re-track guitars on San Pedro and Farmer. I think they’re gonna be a lot better. Looking forward to hearing how it comes out. After that it’s just final tweaks hopefully….

Welcome back Scotty

June 25th, 2010

Hey, it’s been a while since we had a whole band together to practice! It’s nice to have our good friend and regular stand-in bass player Scott Jefferson back in action with us. Also a big thank you to Brandon for coming and taking pictures of our ugly mugs. He does damn fine work – Check him out.

Psyched

May 19th, 2010

Tonight will be the first time Lance, Dean and I have all gotten together and jammed since I had my little accident way back in November. Very excited to jam and see how my hand holds up. Hopefully we can get Scotty down soon too.

Almost done…

April 12th, 2010

So the new album has taken forever but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I think we’re a couple of weeks away from sending it out for mastering and then production. It looks like these are the songs that are going to make it (not necessarily in this order):

1. Dumassity

2. San Pedro

3. Farmer

4. Where were you

5. The Way

6. Gone

7. Heartache

8. Heard it all before

9. What about you

10. Bastard

11. Money Tree

12. Summer of Love

13. I Agree

Another day older and deeper in debt

March 4th, 2010

Went down and saw galactic and ALO w/ dean at the showbox-  ALO absolutely blew my doors off-  cool and funky-

Found out the old Groovemovement drummer (Greg Friesz) is playing with Top Heavy Crush- (Groovemovement was Lance’s band prior to Haymaker) Looking forward to getting back in touch w/ him-  My neighbor (Jane Charles) is a producer on MTV’s new series loosely based on the Seattle music scene- Chris and I went down and checked out the preview,, Good stuff I’d have to say that Chris and I both are new fans of the Moondoggies- very cool band,  very cool show- Nice work Jane-  Anyway back to hopefully getting this disc closer to done tonight-  check back next week

Down at the studio

January 27th, 2010

Lance is cleaning my guitar. I’m eating crackers. We’re supposed to be recording. Don’t tell Dean. Hopefully we’ll finish all of the rest of the guitar tracks for San Pedro and Farmer. Gotta go now – Lance is trying to tune my guitar and that’s just never a good thing…

Update

January 24th, 2010

Just a quick update.
We’re still trying to finish up the tunes for the new CD. Seems like it’s been forever – oh wait, it HAS been forever! Hopefully it will all be worth it and everything will come out like it’s supposed to.
On another note, my hand is healing ok. Still got a LONG way to go until I can use it without hurting like hell, but at least I can bend it some. Better than it hurting and not being able to use it at all!

Little setback

November 9th, 2009

Little setback this weekend. I feel like we have actually been on kind of a roll for a while. The new album is almost done. We’ve been practicing with Scotty and have a couple of new shows lined up. We’ve been talking about doing some acoustic shows too once the new CD is done. Then this Saturday, I was making breakfast for the fam, and a glass container I was holding in my hand shattered and sliced my thumb open right at the base of it. Not good.
Needless to say, I spent Saturday morning in the Emergency Room. It turns out I severed the nerve and the tendon in my thumb and I’ve got surgery scheduled for Wednesday to try and put my hand back together. I’m told this should go well and the recovery time is around 6 – 8 weeks. I’m crossing my fingers.
